The West Baton Rouge Museum in partnership with West Baton Rouge Parish Schools will host the annual Talented Art Student exhibit January 16 through March 6, 2016. The exhibit will include art work done by students who are enrolled in the Talented Art program in the Parish's elementary, middle and high schools. The artworks are selected by the art teachers at each school in order to represent the best work done by the students in the Fall 2015 semester. An opening reception for the Annual Talented Art Student exhibit at the West Baton Rouge Museum will be Saturday, January 16 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Festivities at the opening reception will also include make and take art activities and live entertainment performed by area youth.
The museum takes great pride in supporting the creative talents of the parish's aspiring young artists. Students with outstanding talent typically show potential for performing at remarkably high levels of accomplishment in perceptual and cognitive processes. The Talented Art Student program encourages these capable students to pursue their interest in the arts as an avenue to nurture their intellectual, creative, and artistic growth and leadership capacity.
