Special Use Permit

Special Use Permit

Any firm, person, corporation, or entity desiring to use buildings or land in zoning districts where that particular use has been designated as requiring a special use permit, must first obtain a special use permit from the zoning administrator, in accordance with the following requirements and procedures. No special use permit shall be issued until the case is reviewed by the planning and zoning commission, after a legally advertised public hearing, and a recommendation made to the parish council. The council shall vote to issue or deny the special use permit. It is noted that the granting of a special use permit is intended to be to the land itself without consideration of current or future owners. In other words, a special use permit "runs with the land."
