About Us

The main function of the Department Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is to safely and effectively manage technological and natural disasters. This is done through the management of the preparation, response and recovery phase of any incident. This office works closely with the following employees to assist the public during a disaster:

  • Fire department personnel
  • Industry and hospitals
  • Local, state and federal law enforcement
  • The Louisiana Office of Emergency Preparedness

911 Office

The 911 Office is also located within this department. This office assists residents in creating new addresses and administers and manages the 911 Communications System. In addition, all Parish Public Safety Communications and Radio systems are coordinated by this office. Register your phone with our Reverse 911 Public Alert System.
