Le Chaudron à Nonc Dédé
Uncle Dédé’s Cauldron is a brand-new outreach program from the West Baton Rouge Museum. In this travelling educational program, Uncle Dédé visits schools to tell students about Louisiana’s cultural history and about his life in 1803. Dédé leads two hands-on activities – a “gumbo toss” game focused on Louisiana cuisine, and a musical activity with real washboards and Cajun triangles (“frottoirs” and “tit-fers”) for students to play! The program can be presented entirely in French for immersion classes, or in English with a little “French flavor” for other groups. For more information or to schedule a visit from Uncle Dédé please contact the Museum.
