Summer Performances Schedule 2021 : **Free to the public, no registration required**

The West Baton Rouge Department of Parks and Recreation announces its program of summer performances for the Port Allen Community Center (PACC), the Addis VFW Hall (AVFW), and the Erwinville Community Center (ECC).  The performances are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s in June and July.  The schedule is altered for the Dinosaur George Informances and Traveling Museum. The Dinosaur George Informances are scheduled for Tuesday, July 13 at 10 a.m. at the Port Allen Community Center and 1 p.m. at the Erwinville Community Center. The Dino George Traveling Museum is scheduled for Wednesday, July 14 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Port Allen Community Center. No admission charge.

The Port Allen Community Center is located at 749 N. Jefferson St., Port Allen, 70767.   The Addis VFW Hall is located at 4453 Myhand St., Addis, 70710.  The Erwinville Community Center is located at 5110 Rougon Rd., Port Allen, 70767.

ANIMAL TALES (June 1 - AVFW) (June 2 - PACC)

An amazing pack of wild animals takes the spotlight as naturalist, John Ham, introduces them through stories about their habits and factual information about their lives and their importance to ours.  


Kumuka captivates attention with its vivacious performance of traditional African and African American dances stepped to its drummers’ throbbing rhythms and its dancers’ swaying hips and bellowing skirts.

CRESCENT CIRCUS (June 15 - PACC) (June 16 - AVFW)

In the center ring, Crescent Circus performs an array of extraordinary stunts, physical contortions, and lightning fast illusions that make you gasp, “Did they really do that?”

 TAMPA TAIKO (June 22 - PACC) (June 23 - AVFW)

The ancient art of Japanese drumming produces a powerful, mesmerizing sound performed  with perfectly synchronized movements and exacting team discipline. The audience is invited to drum.


Michelle’s six smart dogs perform incredible athletic feats and inform us about responsible dog ownership, dog safety practices, and why dogs are our friends. Tips for teaching dogs tricks are demonstrated.


A crowd favorite, Chris Miller is a five star magician known for his flawless performance of closeup illusions and his rapid fire jokes.

DINO GEORGE INFORMANCE (July 13 at 10 a.m. - PACC) (July 13 at 1 p.m. - ECC) “Dinosaur George” Blasing is an author, television writer, host of “Jurassic Fight Club” on the History Channel and a public speaker with more than 40 years of study in paleontology and animal behavior. His dinosaur talks fascinate all ages.

DINO GEORGE TRAVELING MUSEUM (July 14 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. - PACC)

Recognized as one of the country’s largest traveling museums, the Dino George Museum features more than 150 exhibits of prehistoric life from around the world including ancient sea life, reptiles, dinosaurs, and ice age mammals. A comprehensive curriculum guide is available for students, kindergarten - 6th grade. The Museum is sponsored by the San Antonio PBS affliate KLRN.
